Department of Physical Education

The Department of Physical Education at our college offers a comprehensive and dynamic range of programs designed to enhance students’ and staff’s overall health, fitness, and athletic abilities. As part of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUG), the department provides multidisciplinary courses in sports science, equipping students with a deep understanding of the scientific principles that underpin physical activity, sports performance, and wellness. These courses are meticulously designed for theoretical knowledge and practical applications, ensuring that students gain a holistic education in physical education.

In addition to these specialised courses, the department offers an open course in Physical Education, accessible to all students of 3 year degree program. This course promotes an inclusive environment where students can explore and engage in various physical activities, enhancing their fitness and well-being. The focus is on individual health and building a community that values and practices regular physical activity.

The department is also dedicated to the overall health and fitness of both students and staff, offering regular fitness assessments, personalized training programmes, and health workshops. These initiatives aim to create a culture of health awareness and proactive self-care within the college community.

Moreover, the department plays an important role in coaching and training students in various sports and games. Through its coaching, students are prepared to compete at both intramural and extramural levels. The department actively organizes and participates in a wide range of competitions, creating a spirit of teamwork, sportsmanship, and excellence. By balancing academic rigor with physical development, the Department of Physical Education ensures that students are well-rounded individuals ready to excel in all areas of life.
